The present Law enters into force on 1 January 2005.
Abstract

The present Law implements the Federal Act of 4 October 2002 on population protection and civil protection. The Police, fire brigade, health service, technical enterprises and civil protection grant the population protection by cooperation in a combined system. The partner organizations of civil protection: a) protect the population and their livelihoods against large loss, disaster and emergencies; b) provide rescue and help; c) contribute to deal properly with consequences; d) work together with other security areas. The text consists of 16 articles divided into 6 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Tasks and organization (2); Rights and duties of persons and organizations (3); Costs (4); Administration of justice (5); Transitional and final provisions (6).
