Abstract This Order applies to commercial fishing in Greenlandic and foreign registered vessels fishing in the territory of Greenland. Tonnage certification of these should be less than 75 BRT/120 BT and may only operate in the area between the shore and a line 3 miles outside the fishing territory’s baseline. The Order does NOT apply to crab or to scallop fishing. It is mandatory for these vessels to carry a TAC equipment system when fishing for all species (except for shrimp and coastal fishing for Greenland halibut for vessels longer than 6 feet) and prerequisite for commercial fishing shall apply to Greenlandic fishing vessels registered in territories subject to international and regional fishing regulations. Within the shrimp and Greenland halibut fishery, a company that has extinguished its annual fishing quota is authorized to continue fishing after 15 November: quantities fished beyond the allowed year quota shall be deducted from the following year and for scallop-fishing activities only. In contrary cases, shrimp and Greenland halibut fishing quota not yet exhausted may be increased for the following year if transferred quota is exhausted by 30 April for shrimps and by 1 July for halibut.
