Abstract

This Order applies to fishing, landing and transporting mussels in Denmark, with the exception of the Wadden Sea - which geographic borders are established and shown in Appendix 1 (all coordinate positions are given in WGS 84 Datum). Production areas for the harvest of clams are divided as shown in Appendix 2. It is permitted to catch mussels only upon authorization from the Danish AgriFish Agency and authorization is granted to fishing vessels with specific equipment (digital/electronic registration and data notification facilities, engine power of maximum 130 KW). It is not permitted to fish below 4 meters of depth and fishing may only take place 1 hour before sunrise to sunset - however between 06:00 and 18:00 only. The Agency may issue rules on cessation of fishing and changing conditions as mentioned in Appendix 6 of the then-applicable regulations governing the fisheries regulations in 2014-2020. Authorized minimum size of mussels is of 5 cm. and fishery and landing in Limfjord is only permitted in coordinates listed under article 13 – however prohibited from Thursday in week 27 until Wednesday of week 36 (Sundays prohibited). Other prohibited fishing areas in Horsens, Vejle and Kolding fjords are listed under articles 21-23.
