Abstract The Order applies to commercial fishing for scallops by individuals and/or companies possessing a fishing licence which is granted by the Directorate of Commerce and which may be valid up to a year. Scallop-fishing licences include requirement for fishing vessel crew to be at least 70% of its total and consisting of individuals residing in Greenland for at least 2 years having fishery as their main source of income. The license also include requirement of permitted area, catch quantity and time restrictions. Registration in the on-board logbook is required for all fishing activities and details thereof. The government shall instruct suspension of fishing activities – should there be reached a maximum allowed quantity – by radio and/or press.
