Abstract The Order applies to commercial sea- and coastal-fishing in Greenland fishing territory and to the determination of vessel size limits. It also adds defined fishing areas for scallops only. Its purpose is to define quota areas and fish species defined in Appendix 1 and 2 – which determine total allowable catch and periods of allowed foreign fishing for national and non-national vessels; based on this information, EU vessels must notify suspension of fishing activities to the EU Commission, while non-Greenlandic vessels shall notify to their corresponding country’s fishing authorities.
