Abstract Commercial and non-commercial fishing for salmon is subject to license, issued by the Directorate of Fisheries. The catch must be reported to the Greenland Fishery License Control (GFLK) and quota is subject to vessel size and method of fishing (with hooks or nets of mesh sizes with stretch of minimum 140 mm. Drift nets may be used for no more than 20 lengths at a time). For non-commercial salmon-fishing a prescribed quota is allowed to Danish nationals resident in Greenland.
