Abstract The aim of this Notification is to ensure that coffee and coffee extracts are produced with the right technique and sanitary procedures. The Notification covers green coffee bean, roasted coffee bean, ground coffee, coffee extracts, instant coffee and instant coffee extracts. It defines the product features of types of coffee and the rules and procedures of preparation, processing, packaging, labelling, conservation, storage, transportation and sales. The Notification further covers provisions on additives, aromatic substances, contaminants, pesticide residues and hygiene.
