Abstract The aim of this Notification is to ensure that sugar is produced with the right technique and sanitary procedures. The Notification covers semi-white sugar, white sugar, sugar solution, invert sugar solution, invert sugar syrup, glucose syrup, dried glucose syrup, dextrose or dextrose monohydrate, dextrose anhydrous, fructose, powdered sugar. It defines the product features of types of sugar listed above and the rules and procedures of preparation, processing, packaging, labelling, conservation, storage, transportation and sales. The Notification further covers provisions on additives, contaminants, pesticide residues, hygiene and sampling and analysis methods.
