Abstract

These Regulations, consisting of 20 sections divided into three Parts and completed by two Schedules, implement provisions of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972. The Regulations apply to marine mammals that are protected animals and are in the wild. The Regulations provide for: measures to be followed by vessels and aircrafts which may come close to marine mammals; distance to be kept by swimmers and persons on land from marine mammals; restrictions on the feeding and touching of marine mammals; restrictions on commercial activities; etc.
