Abstract The Decree approves the Supreme Chemistry Council’s Decision by which point b, paragraph 2 of article 22 to the Food Code is amended. The amendment, taking into consideration Commission Regulation (EC) No. 466/2001 setting maximum levels for certain contaminants in foodstuffs, regards the treatment of the internal surface of food or drink containers. It should be done in such a way that the cassiterite percentage does not exceed 200 parts in the million (ppm), with the exception of the products listed down in the Annex of regulation EC 242/2004.
