Abstract

This Ministerial Decree establishes the modalities for aerial protection of forests against fires, pests and insects, and for ensuring the sanitary safety of forests. Aerial protection shall be carried out in regard to: (a) forests pertaining to regional property; (b) forest plots within forest stock managed by regional executive bodies in accordance with article 83 of the Forest Code; (c) forest plots within forest stock managed by the Federal Forest Agency in accordance with article 83 of the Forest Code; (d) forest plots within federally administered protected areas. Aerial protection against forest fires shall be carried out if and when identification and extinguishment of forest fires on the ground is impeded or impossible. Aerial protection shall include: (a) aerial patrol; (b) forest fire prevention; (c) use of technical means; (d) prevention of natural disasters caused by forest fires; and (d) forest pathology monitoring.
