Abstract

These Regulations, made under the Meat Control Act, prescribe the requirement of a licence for the operation of a slaughterhouse declared as such under regulation 3 (1) of the Meat Control (Local Slaughterhouses) Regulations. The form of application for a licence is laid down in the First Schedule and the licence shall be in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule. A licence shall not be valid anymore if a slaughterhouse has been ordered to be closed by the Director of Veterinary Services in accordance with regulation 6 (b) of (the Meat Control (Local Slaughterhouses) Regulations. Operation of a slaughterhouse without a licence shall be an offence.
