This Regulation prescribes matters required to be prescribed under the Marine Pollution Act 1987 for the purpose of that Act's application to New South Wales waters of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships 1973. It also adopts Parts 91 and 93 of the Marine Orders of the Commonwealth (Parts that relate to the same subject). Schedule 3 to this Regulation makes a number of modifications to those Orders, and makes specific provision with respect to oil spills and to the control of toilet and galley waste from vessels.
