Abstract

The present Law enforces the federal legislation on water protection. In particular, the Law regulates competences of the Canton, municipalities and operators of waste water treatment facilities. Article 2 establishes that as far as water protection is concerned the Canton works together with municipalities, neighbouring cantons and neighbouring foreign countries. The Canton informs the municipalities and others of matters affecting them and if necessary provides for cooperation. The text consists of 20 articles divided into 7 Parts as follows: General provisions (A); Waste water (B); Protection against water pollution (C); Costs (D); Penalties (F); Final provisions (G). Six Annexes are enclosed.
