The present Law enters into force on 1 January 1986.
Abstract

The present Law implements the federal legislation on the control of animal disease. The governing Council may issue provisions concerning the prevention or control of animal diseases not subject to federal legislation when such diseases threaten significantly the public health or livestock. The text consists of 14 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Actions of the Canton (II); Animal Disease Fund (III); Animal insurance and slaughtering plants (IV); Penal, transitional and final provisions (V).
