The Law enters into force from the date of its official publication.
Abstract

The present Law establishes legal grounds for standardization activity and the competence of the participants thereof and also regulates the principles of elaboration and application of legislative acts on standardization. Depending upon the sphere of activity and the validation authority the standards shall be classified as international, regional, inter-state, national standards and branch standards (art. 2). The purpose of standardization is to ensure safety of products, work and service for environment and human health, and energy saving (art. 3). The application of the national standards is recommended (art. 13). The Law consists of 6 Sections composed of 18 articles.
