Abstract

The present Law lays down the legislative framework applicable to the production, processing, storage, distribution, control and handling of food products, with a view to protecting human health as well as the interests of consumers. It is composed of 42 articles divided into the following Chapters: (I) Food production conditions; (II) The auxiliary raw materials and additives used for food production; (III) Requirements concerning food quality and safety; (IV) Packaging and marking of food products; (V) Storage, transportation, distribution and marketing of food products; (VI) Self control of food products from producers; (VII) National food control; (VIII) Administrative infringements; (IX) Final provisions.
