Abstract This Joint Resolution, consisting of 4 Chapters and 2 Annexes, regulates forestry controlled fires activity within the State of Minas Gerais. It establishes the prohibition of the use of fire or any act that may cause forest fire. Forest fires are allowed only through authorization, issued by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (SEMAD), the Regional Offices of Environmental Regularization or competent authority, which will establish the criteria for using, monitoring and controlling forest fires only in specific cases.
