Abstract

These Regulations implement provisions of the Inland Fisheries Resources Act, 2003 with respect to a wide variety of matters including: the right to register and use fish nets in Namibia; registration and use of fishing nets; transfer of certificate of registration; mesh size and method of mesh measurement; methods of fishing; prohibited fishing areas; closed and open seasons in inland water bodies; (application for) recreational licence; use of fishing gear; sale of fish; restrictions on fishing; offences and penalties. The Regulations also prescribe various forms in the Schedule.
