Abstract The present law applies to animals of the cattle, swine, equine, goat and ovine species as well as to other animals belonging to a superior breed and to their genetic material (ova, embryos, semen) for aims of reproduction. It also provides for matters connected therewith such as setting the criteria for approval of stock breeders’ societies, the criteria for registration in herd books, also the criteria for methods of reproduction of this animals, zootechnical certificates that are required for disposal into the market.
