Abstract

The present Ordinance lays down provisions relating to the handling of hazardous substances in the ports of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In particular, it is applicable to the ports as well as to their entrances, as far as they do not belong to Federal Water Ways. The text – consisting of 26 articles – deals with the following issues: sphere of application, definition of terms, validity of national and international provisions, powers of port authorities and water protection police, basic rules for the behaviour in ports, introduction in ports of hazardous substances, fire protection, special provisions for explosive substances, duty to report, penalties and entry into force.
