Abstract

The present Ordinance lays down provisions relating to the transport of dangerous goods by road, by rail and by inland waterways within or between European Community Member States, including the activities of loading and unloading, the transfer to or from another mode of transport and the stops necessitated by the circumstances of the transport. The Ordinance implements the Directive 2008/68/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the same subject matter. The text – consisting of 40 articles – deals with the following matters: sphere of application, definition of terms, authorization of transport, exceptions, competences of the various Ministries, offices and institutes, duties of the sender, of the transport agency, penalties and transitional provisions. Three Annexes are enclosed.
