Abstract

The purpose of these Regulations is to endure freedom of access to and dissemination of, information on the environment held by public authorities, and to set out the basic terms and conditions on which such information should be made available. "Information relating to the environment" is defined in regulation 3. Any person may request information of the Competent authority being the Department of Environment Protection, which is held by the Authority. Other bodies with public responsibilities may also be requested to provide information through the Authority. The Competent Authority shall provide information in accordance with regulations 5 to 8. The Minister may request the Authority to refuse to provide information pursuant to regulation 9. (11 regulations)
