Abstract These Regulations make transitional and consequential provisions and savings in preparation for, in connection with, or in consequence of the coming into force of provisions of the Food Standards Act 1999 and the operation of enactments repealed or amended by provisions of that Act. They transfer functions to the Food Standards Agency under legislation having effect in relation to food safety, consumer protection and animal feed, as specified in the Regulations, and also provide for continuity in relation to transferred functions. Regulation 2 provides definitions. Regulations 3 to 8 and Schedules 1 to 6 make consequential modifications to Regulations having effect at the date of this Act. Regulation 10 and Schedule 8 make consequential provisions to certain other enactments. Regulation 11 and Schedule 9 make consequential provisions to regulations in relation to the monitoring by the Agency of enforcement action. Regulation 12 makes consequential provisions to instruments, as defined in regulation 2(1), and court orders and judgments. Regulation 13 makes transitional provisions and savings and regulation 14 makes transitional provisions and savings relating to powers to make regulations under Part IV of the Agriculture Act 1970.
