The Regulations came into force on 16 January 1998.
Abstract

Regulation 37 of Food Regulations 1985 is hereby amended by substituting for the word antibiotic” the word "drug" in subregulation (1). Regulation 40 in matter of drug residue is replaced by regulation 3. Lastly, the Fifteenth Schedule attached is added to Food Regulations 1985: table I fixes the maximum permitted proportion of drug residues in foodstuffs such as milk, eggs, meat and poultry; table II lists out those drugs which are prohibited in food.
