Abstract The purpose of the Fisheries Administration Regulations 2019 is to replace the 1992 Regulations which are due to sunset on 1 October 2019, by operation of Part 4 of Chapter 3 of the Legislation Act 2003. The Regulations prescribe the Commonwealth Fisheries Association (CFA) as the peak industry body for the purposes of the definition in subsection 4(1) of the Administration Act. Provisions in the 1992 Regulations which are no longer in effect as a result of amendments to the Administration Act are not included in the Regulations. The Fisheries Legislation Amendment (Repeals and Consequential Provisions) Regulations 2019 contain a provision to repeal the 1992 Regulations.
