A stockfeed intended for feeding animals at commercial level should be declared for registration whether it is for home consumption or not. It is the discretion of the registrar to do the exemptions where necessary. A stockfeed manufacturing plant should be registered under these Regulations. All importers of farm feeds shall ensure that- (a) they comply with the registration requirements of these regulations; (b) compulsory pre-shipment inspection, at the expense of the applicant, is conducted; (c) they submit, through inspectors, samples to the laboratory for analysis; (d) they make all necessary declaration of growth promoters, antibiotics, enzymes and GMO status before import permit is issued; (e) compulsory mycotoxin analysis, is conducted prior to registration. Exporters must register the feed and feedmill prior to exportation of farm feed.
