In particular, article 1 establishes that every land owner has the duty to cede to the Canton or local authorities land, buildings and trees if the need arises for the following purposes: the remaking and enlargement of new streets; the remaking of river banks and brooks; for the building of new churches; the exploitation of material used for building of streets; the erection of new water conducts and fountains.
