Abstract

These Regulations provide for the control on the movement of certain pet animals within the EU and from third countries by introducing a system for the identification of pets in accordance with Regulation No. 998/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council as amended various times. Movement of pet animals between member states and froma third country to Ireland requires a pet passport in accordance with the Regulation. These regulations also introduce requirements of approved transporters and approved entry points. Authorised officers may issue compliance notices and apply other enforcement measures.
