Abstract

This Act amends the principal Act of 2011 in several parts, of which the main ones are the following (i) revises the functions of the Zambia Environmental Management Agency; (ii) harmonizes the provisions relating to solid waste management with the Solid Waste Regulation and Management Act, 2018; (iii) domesticates the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer; (iv) provides for the registration of pesticides or toxic substances; (v) revises the provision on summary imposition of penalties; (vi) provides for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.
