Abstract An Ordinance to establish the quality of water for human consumption; however, not applicable to natural mineral waters. At the outset the Ordinance contains the definition of "water for human consumption" and "competent authorities". Article 3 establishes that water has to fulfil the requirements of Annex I and, moreover, to be suitable for human consumption without any danger to human health. Article 5 lists the duties of the water processing plants; first of all, the premises have to be properly maintained so that no danger incurs to the processing of potable water; registers will have to be kept. Article 7 establishes the surveying tasks of the competent authorities. The Ordinance consists of 11 articles and 3 Annexes.
