Additionally, it establishes a risk-based approach for assessing and managing risks in drinking water catchment areas, with exceptions for smaller water extraction facilities. The text further provides for the investigation program; documentation and reporting on the assessment of the drinking water catchment area; risk management; reporting obligations of authorities; and administrative offences.
