Abstract

This Order introduces controls additional to those introduced by previous Diseases of Animals (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy) Orders in relation to the manufacture, sale and purchase of mammalian meat and bone meal and any feedingstuff containing such meat and bone meal. It requires a licence for the manufacture or purchase of such meat and bone meal. Provision is also made for the appointment of authorized officers to enforce the Orders and such officers and other enforcement officers, as well as inspectors within the meaning of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 are given additional powers for this purpose.
