Entry into force on 1 May 1996.
Abstract

The Regional Environment Centres shall decide on the acquisition of areas by the state for nature conservation purposes if: (1) the area forms part of an already existing national park; or the area is indicated as a nature protection area in the sense of the Nature Protection Act of 1923; (2) the purchase price does not exceed 1 million marks; and (3) the Centre in question has been authorized to enter into an agreement to carry out the nature protection programme (sect. 1). Section 4 concerns the compensation of losses to former landowners. (5 sections)
