Abstract

This Decree, implementing provisions of the Animals Act, defines: animal physiotherapy and related forms of therapy in animals; young mother animals; invertebrates; germ and bacteria isolation; surgery interventions in animals; poultry; waiting period in relation to the application of veterinary medicines to animals used for producing foodstuffs. The Decree covers the following matters: physical interventions permitted and specific measures concerning swine, cattle and horses; interventions for identification of animals, including marking; maintenance of herd-book; dehorning of goats kept for milk production; interventions for fish stock management; designation of veterinary treatments, including the use of veterinary medicinal products; veterinarian activities in the context of organised animal disease control, including training; registration of veterinarians; recording of data in registers; use of veterinary medicinal products for food and non-food producing animals; requirements for homeopathic veterinary medicinal products; ban on unacceptable animal suffering; packaging of veterinary medicinal products and indications related to foodstuffs, including: eggs, milk, meat and fish products.
