This Decree enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Decree in the use of the attributions granted to it by articles 37 and 205 of the State Constitution, and in compliance with Federal Law Νο. 12.305 of 2 August 2010 creating the National Solid Waste Policy, establishes the State Solid Waste Committee within the Executive Branch of the State of Pernambuco to promote solid waste management in the State. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Committee, entitled to perform the following activities: articulate with the organs of the federal, state and municipal government the implementation of the Solid Waste Policy; monitor and support actions related to the regional and integrated management of solid waste; propose strategic alternatives for the regional and integrated solid waste management model; stimulate community participation, organized civil society and the productive sector in the regional and integrated management of solid waste; support municipalities in the definition of guidelines for the implementation of the regional and integrated solid waste management model; etc.
