Abstract

This Decree prohibits the importation, sale, donation or keeping of exotic mammals and reptiles. The Norwegian Food Safety Authority shall prescribe the list of animals to which this Decree shall apply. Exempted from the prohibition are those animals that have obtained a transit permission in accordance with section 15 of the Animal Protection Act. The Norwegian Food Safety Authority may also grant specific exemptions from the prohibitions but shall specify conditions attached to the exemption. Measures of enforcement and penalties are prescribed.
