Abstract This Decree applies to an area known the NAFO area and described in section 1. Section 4, which prohibits fishing without a licence issued by the Director of Fisheries and outlines the conditions of such licence, shall apply also to the area west of 37° West. The Decree prohibits in general fishing for cod by Norwegian vessels in the area described. Section 3, however, allows fishing by Norwegian vessels of a total catch of 925 tons of cod in the NAFO sub-area 3M. Vessels shall be registered with the Directorate of Fisheries. Section 6 empowers the Director of Fisheries to stop fishing if catch quotas are full. Vessels shall observe the rules established by the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization.
