Abstract

This Regulation sets a Union target for the reduction of Salmonella enteritidis and Salmonella typhimurium in flocks of broilers. The Union target, as referred to in Article 4(1) of Regulation (EC) No 2160/2003, shall be a reduction of the maximum annual percentage of flocks of broilers remaining positive for Salmonella enteritidis and Salmonella typhimurium equal to 1% or less. As regards monophasic Salmonella typhimurium, serotypes with the antigenic formula 1,4,[5],12:i:- shall be included in the Union target. The testing scheme necessary to verify progress in the achievement of the Union target is set out in the Annex of the Regulation.
