Abstract

This Regulation amends the Annex to Regulation (EC) No. 1924/2006 which contains the list of nutrition claims. In particular it inserts a new entry concerning no added sodium or salt. It stipulates that a claim stating that sodium or salt has not been added to a food and any claim likely to have the same meaning for the consumer may only be made where the product does not contain any added sodium or salt (or any other ingredient containing added sodium or salt) and the product contains no more than 0,12 g sodium per 100 g or 100 ml. Further amendments concern claims for reduced saturated fats.
