Abstract These Regulations, amend the Cattle Database Regulations 1998 (S.I. 1998/1796) as they concern the period within which a keeper must give notification to the National Assembly for Wales of the movement of cattle. The effect of the amendment made by the Regulations is to reduce the period within which notification of movements of cattle must be posted or made by electronic means to the national Assembly from seven to three days (reg. 2). This is in accordance with the requirements of the second indent of Article 7.1 of Regulation (EC) No. 1760/2000 establishing a system for the identification and registration of bovine animals.
