Abstract

The present Regulation enacts the Environment Act. The Regulation lays down provisions relating to the burning of crop and non-crop herbage. The Regulation contains at the outset a definition clause relating to terms therein employed such as “burning period”, “crop”, “crop residue”, “highway”, “non-crop herbage”, “owner”, "residue of a forage crop grown for seed". The text – consisting of 11 sections – deals with the following matters: delegation by Minister, burning of crop residue between August and November, burning of crop residue between November and July, burning of non-crop herbage and residue of forage crops grown for seed and enforcement.
