Abstract

This Order, for purposes of the Diseases of Animals (Jersey) Law 1956, extends the definition of “disease” in article 1(3) of the Law so as to include bovine spongiform encephalopathy and applies article 8 of the Law to the disease. Article 8 empowers the Minister to order slaughtering of diseased animals.
