Abstract This Act lays down rules governing compliance with access to genetic resources and sharing of benefits from their use in accordance with the provisions of the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization to the Convention on Biological Diversity. Polish minister competent for the environment is responsible for the implementation of the Regulation (EU) No. 511/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council on compliance measures for users from the Nagoya Protocol. Tasks related to user control and the register of collections specified in the Act are performed by the authorities of the Environmental Protection Inspection.
