Abstract

The Act makes provision for the production, importation and exportation of seed, seed-potatoes, plants and parts of plants which are used for reproduction. The King may decide which plant species or seed are regulated by to provisions of the Act. Production, importation and exportation of seed or planting material shall be subject to provisions of this Act and to further regulation by the King in accordance with criteria establishing in section 2. Supervision and control shall be carried out by the State Seed Control Office, the State Plant Inspection Office, the police force and the customs office (sect. 5). Section 5A provides for compulsory orders issued by the Department of Agriculture or any other authorised agency in the case of infringement of provisions of or made under the present Act.
