Abstract

Section 1 defines "plants and parts of plants", "infectious substances", and "plant pests". The Department of Agriculture shall establish the pests and diseases to which this Act applies (sect. 2). The Department shall take measures to protect plants against pests and diseases including all those listed in section 2. Section 3 requires landowners to notify pests occurring on their lands to the Department. Remaining provisions provide for inspection and other control and prevention measures (sect. 4), payment of costs in case of negligence by owners (sect. 5), notification of plant protection measures to landowners (sect. 6), payment of charges for control measures (sect. 7), and miscellaneous matters (sects. 8 to 12).
