Abstract

The present Act has been adopted in order to regulate, inter alia, the use of herbicidals and geodisinfectants for agricultural purposes, so as to guarantee the proper use of such phytosanitary products, in compliance with article 3 of Legislative Decree No. 194 of 1995. Firstly, article 2 lays down the definition of the phytosanitary products which fall within the application scope of this Act. Secondly, article 3 establishes the requirements to be met iin their utilization. The products hereby concerned may be used only upon specific authorization issued by the Ministry of Health and in compliance with the conditions laid down under Legislative Decree No. 194 of 1995. Additionally, the products shall be used in accordance with the prescriptions established in the labels. Article 9 lays down certain use prohibitions. Articles 10 and 11 regard surveillance and application of penalties respectively.
