The present Act enters into force the day after its publication except for article 5 which enters into force on 12 June 2004.
Abstract

The present Act introduces some substantial amendments to the Meat Hygiene Act in its consolidated version of 30 June 2003 (BGBl. I p. 1242, 1585); to the Poultry Meat Hygiene Act of 17 July 1996 (BGBl. I p. 991); to the Poultry Meat Hygiene Ordinance in its consolidated version of 21 December 2001; to the Act on foodstuff and articles of daily use in its consolidated version of 9 September 1997 (BGBl. I p. 2296). The text consists of 14 articles.
