Abstract

The principal Act establishes a Finnish fishing zone extending eight miles from the outer limits of the territorial sea. These amendments concern the right of Finland to take measures necessary for the conservation of fish resources in the Zone and fishing rights in the Zone. As far as fishing rights are concerned, section 6 of the Fisheries Act and provisions of the common fisheries policy of the European Communities apply. The provisions of the European Communities shall not apply to a specified area bordering the outer limit of the inner territorial waters. (2 sections)
