Rules of Procedure Document type Decision Reference number C1 - DEC.1 Date Sep 4, 2013 SourceUNEP, InforMEA Status Active Subject Waste & hazardous substances Treaty Bamako Convention on the Ban of the Import into Africa and the Control of Transboundary Movement and Management of Hazardous Wastes within Africa (Jan 30, 1991) Meeting First Conference of Parties to the Bamako Convention Website www.informea.org Abstract The Conference: Recalling Article 15, paragraph1 of the Bamako Convention on the Ban of the Import into Africa and the Control of Transboundary Movement and Management of Hazardous Wastes within Africa which establishes a Conference of the Parties made up of Ministers having the environment as their mandate, and which states that ordinary meetings of the Conference of the Parties shall be held at regular intervals to be determined by the Conference at its first meeting; Further recalling that Article 15, paragraph2 of the Convention requires the Conference of the Parties to adopt rules of procedure for itself and for any subsidiary body it may establish; Hereby: 1. Adopts the Rules of Procedure of the Conference of the States Parties to the Bamako Convention on the Ban of the Import into Africa and the Control of Transboundary Movement and Management of Hazardous Wastes within Africa also referred to as the Bamako Convention annexed hereto. 2.Decides that Meetings of the Conference of Parties shall take place on a bi-‐annual basis.
